- Water Desalination :
Countries in MENA Region are all currently facing water scarcity. With 97% of available water represented by salty water with the Salinity Level > 35,000 mg/l, the largest possible source of alternative water supply requires and will require desalination.
Desalination involves removing the salt from water to make it drinkable. There are several ways to do it, and it is not a new idea at all. The oldest desalination methods are based on evaporating water and collecting the condensate. The best known thermal technologies are Multi Stage Flash (MSF), Multi Effect Distillation (MED) and Vapor Compression (VC). While MSF, MED, and VC use thermal power to separate water from the brine, Electro-Dialysis Reversal (EDR) uses high voltage current to remove Cations and Anions from the stream.
The newest commercial technology for Desalination is based on membrane treatment. Reverse Osmosis (RO) (Brackish or Sea Water) is the fastest growing desalination technique with the greatest number of installations around the globe. Desalination by RO is beginning to dominate the current and future desalination markets.
Regarding this, we are offering the following solutions:
- Design, supplying and installing new RO desalination plants
- Container RO Units
- Rehabilitation of existing RO plants
